We are looking for an Electrical CAD Designer to join our team and design printed circuit boards (PCB) for our next-generation active phased-array antennas and satellite user terminals. As part of your role, you will be responsible for developing complex PCB designs from concept to production, and providing support throughout the product life cycle. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that operational and packaging requirements are met, and create a tool infrastructure that includes librarian tasks. Additionally, you will support the team in working with PCB fabrication and assembly houses, and liaise with vendors and stakeholders to guide projects to completion.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Designing and developing complex PCBs from concept to production for active phased-array antennas and satellite user terminals.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that operational and packaging requirements are met.
- Creating a tool infrastructure that includes librarian tasks.
- Supporting the team in working with PCB fabrication and assembly houses.
- Liaising with vendors and stakeholders to guide projects to completion.
- Assisting in troubleshooting of issues in development, manufacturing, and operational environments.
- Some travel may be required (up to 10%).
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience with CAD tools for designing electronic printed circuit boards for systems that have gone to production.
- Familiarity with Mentor Expedition, our preferred tool.
- Experience in design, drafting, detailing, and packaging of PCB board layout designs that include symbol, cell, and footprint generation, PCB layout, PCB electronic packaging, and PCB drawing generation.
- Ability to multi-task and handle numerous jobs simultaneously.
- Ability to research solutions to project constraints and recommend design approaches.
- Excellent communication skills, and be an effective communicator capable of working in a fast-paced environment and being an active participant.
