Responsibilities:
- Design, write, and debug organized, structured, and well-documented PLC code for high-volume manufacturing applications.
- Configure, prepare, and integrate industrial controls hardware and electrical components for on-site integration.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate the functionality of control hardware.
- Prepare and integrate cable routing plans and schedules.
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on faulty control hardware and control systems.
- Develop custom robot application code to interface with emerging technologies.
- Integrate safety systems into automation cells, including estops, lockout fences, and robot safety interfaces.
- Set up and test field bus networks, such as CAN and Ethernet.
- Create technical documentation for electromechanical systems, including wiring diagrams and BOMs.
- Prepare machine and work cell documentation, manuals, and spare parts lists as needed.
- Develop, implement, and test robotic algorithms related to kinematics, dynamics, and controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or computer science.
- 5+ years of extensive experience in robotic programming and applications.
- Proficient in high-level robotic programming on platforms such as Fanuc, KUKA, ABB, or equivalent.
- Experience with PLC integration and programming.
- Demonstrated experience in commissioning and programming industrial 6-DOF robots.
- Knowledge of at least one programming language, such as Python or C++.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with a wide range of production machinery, industrial sensors, and equipment (e.g., vision systems, palletizing systems, temperature controllers).
- Experience in fast-paced iterative design and manufacturing environments.
